The Sounkyo Ice Festival is quite difficult to find as the city does not appear on Google maps, and is located in the countryside of Hokkaido. However the festival is definitely worth a visit. If the Sapporo Snow Festival offers impressive sculptures, this festival offers us illuminations of all colors on the snow, as well as real ice installations that we can enter.
