Sapporo is the regional capital of Hokkaidō in northern Japan. It is also the fifth Japanese city in number of inhabitants and the third in surface area.

SNOW FESTIVAL: YUKI MATSURI (雪祭 り)

Every year in February, the Yuki Matsuri, or snow festival, takes place in Sapporo. This event has been taking place since 1950, and every year it is the occasion to admire sublime sculptures of ice and snow!
If you have the opportunity to come to Japan in February, this festival is a must for us.

THE CLOCK TOWER (札幌 時 計 台, SAPPORO TOKEIDAI).

Chūō Constituency
Built in 1878, this tower is the oldest monument in Sapporo. For ¥ 200, you can visit it as well as a museum on the development of Sapporo.

TRAIN HOKKAIDO GOVERNMENT OFFICE

Former Hokkaido government building and the city's main tourist spot.

SAPPORO TV TOWER

For 720 ¥ you can climb to the top of this tower which overlooks the city of Sapporo. The slanted windows at the top of the observatory allow you to have a breathtaking view of the city.
